Oktoberfest celebrations kick off at Pittsburgh International Airport

Live oompah music, classic brews and bites, and more

What:         Oktoberfest kicks off at Pittsburgh International Airport this Friday with live oompah tunes, classic German brews and dishes, complimentary pretzel bites and special offers, courtesy of Penn Brewery and Fraport Pittsburgh. Penn’s airport brewpub and staff will also be decked out in Oktoberfest finery.   

When:            Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 – 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Starting at 4 p.m. Grammy-nominated accordionist Kevin Solecki will fill the airside terminal with Oktoberfest oompah tunes in the Center Core. Greeters will welcome visitors with complimentary pretzel bites from Auntie Anne’s, and a few lucky passengers will also receive complimentary Fraport gift certificates.

Throughout the month, Penn Brewery’s classic German brews will include its Great American Beer Festival medalists, Penn Oktoberfest and Penn Gold. And on the menu, classic dishes like Bavarian Pretzels with German Obatzda dip, Sausage Platter with Sauerkraut & Hot German Potato Salad, Wurst Baguette on a Pretzel Roll, and the German Reuben Sandwich.

Penn staff will share details about Oktoberfest celebrations at its North Side location, the weekends of Sept. 20-22 and 27-29, along with special offers.
