A week of airport activities aims to cultivate Cleveland pride
CLEVELAND, July 17, 2015 – This summer, the AIRMALL at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is celebrating its city. July 20 through July 24, the AIRMALL will host a series of activities and exhibits to showcase Cleveland – including live music performances, complimentary hometown treats, and a Christmas in July display featuring memorabilia from “A Christmas Story House & Museum.” Throughout the week, AIRMALL will also share historical and cultural fun facts in social media, allowing travelers to discover more about Cleveland.
“July is a time for celebration, and Cleveland has a lot to celebrate,” says Tina LaForte, vice president of AIRMALL Cleveland. “Cleveland is home to a vibrant music and culture scene and a dedicated sports community. We are hoping to leave travelers with that impression, whether they are already familiar with Cleveland or new to town.”
Activities scheduled during Celebrate Cleveland week at the AIRMALL at CLE include:
- Monday, July 20: The Cleveland Indians mascot Slider will strut the concourses and pose for photos with fans from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, July 21: The Cleveland Culinary Launch & Kitchen will highlight entrepreneurs and an array of products such as BBQ sauces, roasted almonds, cookies and more made right here in Cleveland.
- Wednesday, July 22: It’s Christmas in July with “A Christmas Story House” display. Travelers will have photo opportunities with character cutouts, the Leg Lamp and other movie memorabilia from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Thursday, July 23: The native Cleveland contemporary jazz band Forecast will perform from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Main Terminal Food Court.
- Friday, July 24: Mitchell’s Ice Cream, voted best ice cream in Ohio, will treat passengers to a complimentary cone or cup from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Main Terminal Food Court.
