Restaurant Brings Gourmet Italian Specialties to Travelers
PITTSBURGH, December 2, 2013 – This season’s holiday travelers can take a slight detour to experience a taste of Italy at the new Bottega dei Sapori at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). AIRMALL® USA, the leading airport concessions developer in North America and operator of the AIRMALL at PIT, is pleased to announce the restaurant and specialty food store (1,125 sq. ft.) is now open in the Center Core, which is situated in the airside terminal and receives all departing and arriving passengers.

Operated by Airest Collezioni, an international travel retail operator based in Italy, Bottega dei Sapori is inspired by the company’s popular fine foods shop in Venice. The store offers traditional cuisine, including artisanal pastas in all shapes, flavors and sizes; small batch extra virgin olive oils; fine meats and cheeses; decadent chocolates and cookies; and premium Italian coffee. A knowledgeable staff provides details about all of the store’s offerings, and travelers can choose to have their purchases shipped, making it easy to turn some of Bottega’s offerings into gifts for friends and family members.
Bottega dei Sapori also offers a tasting corner where travelers have a choice of freshly prepared foods, including panino with the finest San Daniele prosciutto and authentic Campania mozzarella, and a simple yet delicious sampling of cheese and olives. Travelers are invited to pair their meal with a glass of wine from Bottega’s carefully curated list of Italian vintages. Those with morning departures or arrivals will appreciate Bottega’s selection of authentic Italian espresso and cappuccino.
Bottega dei Sapori is a product of AIRMALL’s collaboration with Airest Collezioni to bring a selection of luxury brands to the terminal at PIT.
The new brands are part of a $10-millon upgrade to the AIRMALL at PIT, a yearlong construction project resulting in the most significant overhaul of the concessions program since the airport opened in 1992.
