AIRMALL® at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) Responds to Increased Passenger Traffic by Opening Earlier

AIRMALL Stores and Restaurants Begin Operating at 5 a.m.

PITTSBURGH, April 13, 2011 – AIRMALL® USA, the leading airport concessions developer in North America and operator of the AIRMALL® at PIT, is responding to an uptick in passenger traffic at the airport by adjusting operating hours for the awardwinning concessions program. The majority of AIRMALL stores and restaurants are now open for business at 5 a.m. A select number of restaurants will open at 4 a.m. for those with flights that depart even earlier in the morning.

“These earlier hours reflect our ongoing commitment to accommodating our passengers, and ensuring that they’re able to get what they’re looking for when traveling through Pittsburgh,” said Jay Kruisselbrink, vice president of development for AIRMALL Pittsburgh. “As always, passengers can shop and dine at the AIRMALL knowing that they are paying ‘Regular Mall Prices…Guaranteed,’ which is an AIRMALL promise.”

Founded in 1992, the AIRMALL at PIT pioneered the developer model for airport concessions across the United States by introducing “Regular Mall Prices…Guaranteed.” Passengers pay no more for goods and services at the AIRMALL than they would pay at a comparable nearby store or restaurant. The AIRMALL at PIT continues to boast among the highest per-passenger spend out of any airport in the nation.

For the past two years, the AIRMALL at PIT took first place among U.S. airports in the food, shops and amenities category in Condé Nast Traveler’s 12th Annual Business Travel Awards.
