AIRMALL® at BWI and Borders Announce May and June Book Signings

Authors of Historical Fiction, Thrillers, Children’s Books and Poetry to Hold Signings at Airport

BALTIMORE, May 10, 2010– BAA Maryland, developer of the AIRMALL® at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), will welcome several authors who will be conducting book signings in May and June at Borders, located in the airport’s Terminal A/B, Southwest Airlines.

On Friday, May 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Christopher Corbett will sign copies of Orphans Preferred: The Twisted Truth and Lasting Legend of the Pony Express and The Poker Bride: The First Chinese in the West. Corbett resides in Baltimore and is a faculty member of the English department at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

On Friday, May 21, Rique Johnson, a writer and poet based in Springfield, Va., will sign copies of his thrilling novels Love & Justice, A Dangerous Return, Whispers from a Troubled Heart and Every Woman’s Man, from 3:00 p.m. to 6 p.m. He will return to the airport for a second signing on Friday, June 18 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The following two book signings are scheduled for Friday, May 28:

  • Local author Donna Gross will sign her children’s book, Higbert the Dragon, an adventure about a friendly dragon who teaches others about the importance of kindness and friendship. Gross will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Doris Washington will sign copies of A Blessing, Caring & Sharing and Faith, Hope and Love, two of her works of poetry that bring spiritual and inspirational messages of hope and love to the world of autism. Washington resides in Harrisburg, Pa. and is an author, poet and disability advocate who has written more than 450 inspirational poems about autism awareness, her spirituality and social issues facing the world today.

On Friday, June 4, Bobbie Hinman, a writer from Bel Air, Md., will sign copies of The Bellybutton Fairy, The Knot Fairy, The Sock Fairy and the newly released The Fart Fairy on from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Hinman is an author of enchantingly illustrated fables about the magical interaction between children and fairies.
