Freshly Prepared Seafood, Homemade Italian Dishes Now on the Menu at the AIRMALL® at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

BAA Cleveland Announces Openings of Obrycki’s Crab House and Seafood Restaurant and Sbarro

CLEVELAND, May 5, 2010 – Delicious crabs and fresh Italian cooking are the two new menu options for travelers at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) who are looking to grab a bite. BAA Cleveland, developer of the AIRMALL®, continues its transformation of concessions with the recent opening of two new units on Concourse D:

  • Obrycki’s Crab House and Seafood Restaurant (2,400 sq. ft.), a Maryland original with a reputation for freshly prepared seafood, Obrycki’s serves its famous crab cakes, crab soup, hot crab dip and more of the favorites featured on the establishment’s menu for more than 60 years. The restaurant is operated by CRC Cleveland, Inc.
  • Sbarro (940 sq. ft.) offers a menu of homemade Italian cuisine, such as hand tossed pizza, subs, pastas, fresh salads and homemade desserts. Additionally, Sbarro features a specialty coffee station with espresso, caramel macchiato, hot chocolate, white mocha and more. Sbarro opened its first mall-based restaurant in 1967 and has since grown to nearly 1,000 restaurants worldwide. The restaurant is operated by Seven Hills, Inc.

“From unique dining experiences like Obrycki’s to well-know concepts such as Sbarro, we’re continuing to expand the dining options passengers can enjoy at the AIRMALL® at CLE,” said Tina LaForte, vice president of BAA Cleveland. “Whether passengers are looking for a relaxing sit-down dinner or simply grabbing a slice of pizza on-the-go, we have something to meet a variety of tastes, and it’s all at ‘Regular Mall Prices…Guaranteed.’”

“Obrycki’s brings the tastes of fresh seafood to our passengers in Cleveland while Sbarro offers an array of Italian classics,” added Airport Director Ricky Smith. “These two established brands add variety to our dining mix at the AIRMALL® at CLE and will continue to enhance the travel experience for our passengers.”

Now in its second year of development, the new AIRMALL® at CLE will occupy 76,000 square feet of retail space when it is completed in 2010. The enhanced concessions program is also expected to double the current participation rate of local and minorityowned companies, dramatically increase the number of concession jobs, and double retail sales figures during the next decade.
