BALTIMORE, March 12, 2007 – Looking for a tropical getaway this Spring Break? BAA Maryland has the perfect destination, one that doesn’t even require sunscreen! Rum Island, the newest AIRMALL® addition at the Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, gives travelers the chance to step into a tropical paradise before they even leave the airport. Located in Concourse D, Rum Island offers travelers the chance to sip on rum-based drinks while relaxing in an island-like setting.

“Rum Island is a great concept that offers travelers a tropical getaway without even leaving the AIRMALL®,” said Patrick Walsh, Vice President, BAA Maryland. “This fun island bar and restaurant is yet another example of the variety of establishments offered to travelers in the AIRMALL® at BWI.”

Rum Island (opening March 12) creates a tropical atmosphere with its funky Bahamian-style graphics, expansive ceilings, exotic décor and dimensional murals. The bar also has a menu that includes appetizers, soups, salads, and sandwiches, including jerk chicken, cubano, and pulled pork, along with key lime pie and other desserts.
