The Tastes of Florence and Tuscany Touch Down at BWI

Germano Fabiani Brings Italy to Airport Travelers

BALTIMORE – September 11, 2006 – The tantalizing cuisine of old-world Italy has arrived at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport with the opening of BACI BAR & GRILL. Adjacent to the Southwest Airlines ticketing counter, the newest AIRMALL® addition opened its doors in Terminal A/B (landside and pre-security) to offer hungry travelers a full range of Italian cuisine. The 2,000-square-foot BACI BAR & GRILL is the brainchild of Germano Fabiani, a native of Florence Italy and well-known proprietor of Germano Trattoria, a popular Baltimore-area Italian restaurant.

“BACI BAR & GRILL offers travelers tastes from the old country. Whether they have time to relax before a flight or must eat and go, there is something to suit everyone’s needs and taste buds,” said Mark Knight, Vice President and Regional Director of BAA USA. “We aim to provide travelers with a variety of dining options, and BACI BAR & GRILL fits perfectly into our AIRMALL® concept.”

BACI BAR & GRILL offers travelers authentic Italian cuisine with a sit-down dining option and a carry-out, deli-oriented menu with frittatas, pastries, breads, yogurt, fruit, wraps, pastas, soups and salads. In addition, travelers can choose from an impressive selection of Italian beverages – from Tuscany’s Rocca delle Macie Chianti to Italy’s most popular coffee, Caffé Esse. Conveniently packaged coffee, wine and other gift items are available for travelers to purchase.

BACI BAR & GRILL is open from 5 a.m. until the last flight departs.
