Fraport USA pioneered modern American airport retail (street pricing, competitive national and local brands, developer model) at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Through a robust program of leasing, marketing and retail management Fraport delivers a rich mix: high-end international fashion like Hugo Boss and Armani, forward thinking food like Bar Symon and Martini, and locally-inspired, locally-owned concepts such as The Strip Market, Marathon Diner and Commonwealth Press. Fraport has transformed Pittsburgh into an icon of high design and brand selection, driving top-line sales and revenues and passenger satisfaction.
Among the recent developments is a $10 million investment in new, enhanced concessions and passenger flows, including two towering 19-foot video walls to create a brand new interactive experience for the traveling public. Ten units were added and a number of new, first-time premium brands were also introduced to the development, including the first Bottega dei Sapori in the U.S. and Collezioni – The Beauty Gallery along with Furla, Desigual, Armani Jeans, and Hugo Boss.
In addition, a brilliant new art installation terrazzo floor mural was commissioned by the airport as a showpiece for the Center Core, and it was profiled in Architectural Digest.
