BAA Maryland Offers Travelers Wi-Fi Service at Baltimore/Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport

Travelers Can NOW Stay Connected at the Airport

Baltimore, January 9, 2007 – BAA Maryland, developer and manager of the AIRMALL at Baltimore Washington International (BWI) Thurgood Marshall Airport, takes a wireless approach and is currently offering high-speed, Wi-Fi service, (in the Southwest Airlines Terminals (A/B), A and B), to travelers who want to stay connected while on the road or in the airport. Technology, provided by Concourse Communications Group, enables BAA Maryland to deliver passengers fast, easy, high-speed wireless connectivity solutions to those who need to sync and link while traveling.

“We are pleased to offer the traveling public Wi-Fi service so that passengers can access important files, communicate with the office, loved ones or simply “surf the net,” while experiencing the AIRMALL and BWI,” said Patrick Walsh, Vice President for BAA Maryland. “With only 12 other airports utilizing Concourse Communication Groups high-speed Wi-Fi services, we are certain the service will be an asset to travelers as well as the airport.”

The Wi-Fi project, that began construction in mid-November 2006, will provide high-speed accessibility to travelers flying in an out of every concourse location (Concourses B, C, D, E and the Observation Gallery) within the BWI airport. Wi-Fi service became available in Concourses A/B and A on December 18, 2006 and in Concourse B and the Observation Gallery on January 5, 2007. The entire Wi-Fi system is expected to be fully implemented and airport-wide by March 2007.
